Heartburn

I've been having a bad case of annoying heartburn this week. I've had more heartburn this week then I've had in the last year. I wake up a few times a night with it and even had to fall asleep in the chair just so I wouldn't lay down. I now finally have Tums in the medicine cabinet.

I mentioned it to a couple of my managers at work, and they both got worried telling me that heartburn could be a sign of something seriously wrong. I was like, huh? Its just heartburn~I used to get it when I was pregnant (and no that's not the case now).

Anyways tonight after I got sent home early from work because of my hacking cough, I decided to do a quick search online. Seems like heartburn can have symptoms that feel much like the same symptoms as for angina. But enough of a difference so I'm pretty sure I ain't suffering from angina.

So while I was sitting at the computer tonight I got hungry and grabbed a banana...wouldn't ya know it. The heartburn hit about 10 minutes after I finished the banana. Now I always thought heartburn would be caused by fried food, to much coffee or just plain pigging-out; not from 1 banana. Bananas are supposed to be good for you....you know how sometimes when you feel sick and the doctors tell you to eat the "B.R.A.T." diet, well I was feeling ok when I started eating the first part of it...B=banana...so why would a banana cause heartburn?

So if anyone reading this has any "cures" for heartburn...please pass them on to me, so that I can sleep through the night.

Usually I don't have the ingredients for those above on hand much. Recently I bought frozen peaches & frozen blackberries to use in my smoothies. This week I haven't been feeling good and just not in the mood to eat to much "normal" food, so I am very thankful for my blender right now.
