Our cashier (Martha)was texting our old manager, Patty~who moved to FL. Patty sent a messege that she was eating tomato,pineapple & hummus. I assumed Patty made some kind of sandwich...I envisioned spreading hummus on pita bread, sliced tomatoes & putting in pineapple rings.
even though the pinapple sounded a bit strange to me. The cashier had to ask us "what the heck is hummus?"
So after work today, I bought a can of pineapple rings, a package of sandwich thins, and some hummus. The store didn't have the flavor I usually like so I picked up a container of "spicy three peppers" flavor, along with 2 different kinds of crackers. So if Martha doesn't like the sandwich maybe she will try the crackers dipped in hummus.
Martha jokingly calls me & Patty "wierd" cuz we eat stuff that is not normal for Native Americans (or anyone) growing up in AZ. Maybe after tomorrow, she will add a wierd food to her next grocery list.
